hmm I can’t seem to draw anything but myself lately
Here’s a comic I did for an independent contract I completed before I graduated this past summer. I read Otomo Katsuhiro’s Akira, wrote some essays about it and manga in general, then created this in the style of Japanese comics.
This was my first time using Manga Studio. This was also the first time I had created a “finished” sort of comic; everything I’d done previously was just pencil on paper.
The Man-Machine is a story about a human cop and his robot partner in a futuristic world where artificial and biological lifeforms live together without (much) conflict. Their unit specializes in cases involving illicit body modifications for both humans and robots; laws allow humans to enhance their bodies with machine parts but restrict machines from developing or using biological enhancements or parts.
On the trail of a routine shipment of body mods into Neo Metropolis Zone, stakes may be much higher than the pair could have anticipated…
